Who are we and what do we do?
Bridlington u3a is a volunteer led organisation offering interest groups, activities, events and outings to our members in Bridlington and the surrounding area. Most of our interest groups and activities take place between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays with very little at the weekends. Our committee, interest groups, activities, events and outings are led by our members, who are unpaid volunteers, for the benefit of our members.

Who can join?
Membership is open to all those who are no longer in full time employment. There are no age limits for joining, but most of our members are 50 plus.

How much does it cost to join?
Our membership year runs from 1 September to 31 August. However, if you join during June, July, or August, you do not need to renew membership until September of the following year. Our membership options are:

  • Annual membership is £13.00 for membership of Bridlington u3a and a regular newsletter from us.
  • Or for £17.00 you get the above, plus copies of the national magazine from the Third Age Trust, with information on other u3as around the country as well as courses, seminars and holidays.

How do I join interest groups and sign up for activities, events and outings?
After you have become a member of Bridlington u3a you will be able to attend any of our interest groups provided there are places available. PLEASE NOTE: Bridlington u3a cannot guarantee which groups will run, or which groups will have vacancies.

There is a list of our current groups and events in our Newsletter. Most groups have a small attendance fee to cover costs such as room hire, materials etc, but we aim to minimise costs wherever possible.

You will find information about our activities, events and outings in our Newsletter and you can book places for them at the monthly meetings at the Bridlington Spa,  by contacting the Group Leader organising the activity, event or outing or by contacting the Group Coordinator at  groups@u3abridlington.co.uk

Are there any other benefits?
By showing your membership card you can ask for discounts from organisations who are currently offering discounts to our members. Details of these organisations are listed in our Newsletter.
