 Summer is almost upon us and so is our June Showcase at the Spa. It is free and open to the public so do invite everyone along! June also means that membership renewals are now possible for the next membership year beginning September 1st.

Spa meetings: *Please note that there are some changes of date since the last newsletter and because the July meeting date is now later, children and grandchildren may attend at no charge.*

We are still looking for volunteers for various committee roles: if you feel you can help, please do, and full support will be given.

Group announcements:

  New groups:

  • Kurling: If you are interested in playing this growing sport, suitable for all abilities, a new group is now being formed on Tuesday afternoons from 1–3 p.m. at the Leisure Centre; all equipment is provided, all you need are indoor trainers/shoes.

 

  • Crafting: Supporting all kinds of crafts, sewing, beading, crochet, quilting; two Tuesdays a month at 2-4 p.m.

 

  • Metal Detecting: There will be a meeting at the u3a Centre on Monday, June 3rd at 2 p.m. for all those interested in this activity.

 

  • Scrabble 2: Now being held monthly at the u3a Centre on a Thursday from 1-3 p.m.

 

Local History: There will be a talk entitled ‘Bridlington Esplanade’ given by Geoff Gibson

          on Wednesday 12th June at 10 a.m., cost £2, at St. John’s Burlington Methodist Church.

 

Quiz Night at the Town Bar; starting at 7.30 pm cost £1.50, cash prizes.

          The final event before the summer break will be on Wednesday June 26th 2024

Future dates will be announced at the beginning of September.

Renewals: From the 1st of June you will be able to renew your membership online through the Beacon system; if you don’t do PayPal then scroll down below it and pay with card. Your new membership card  will then need to be picked up at a monthly meeting or sent to you via a SAE provided to Wendy.

There will be NO renewals at the June meeting but there will be renewal slips at the membership desk; remember to include a SAE if you want your new membership cards sent to you.

Membership renewals as normal by cash, cheque or card payment at the July meeting.
